The Kingdoms of This World

You’ve heard it in movies or cartoons, like Aladdin. I hear daily the eery, mournful cry of the Muslim ‘prayer’ caller crying out to his god, a god who, at best, does not exist, at worst is the angel of light. Our code name for the Muslims here is ‘POWs.’ We have to be very careful just in normal conversation while eating or walking down the street. Some of the regions where we are preaching are 99% Muslim. But they are not the enemy; they are prisoners of war, held captive by Satan to do his will.

In some places, when I speak of the Incarnation or the Cross, or when we pray, there is laughter, whispering, joking; some get up and walk out. But many, many come to faith in Christ. ‘Do not be afraid, but speak and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.’

I am very priviledged to travel and work with other seasoned evangelists on these tours. David and Amy Stockwell are dear friends (see www.davidstockwell.org) and I’m honored to be associated with them in these overseas missions. They have an efficient organization, multiple world-wide contacts and they know how to do ministry with integrity and excellence. David preaches the same Gospel I do, meaning he does not compromise the cardinal doctrines of grace. The message is preached with compassion and with sensitivity to culture but without flinching at the truth. I can work with friends like that.

Right now I’m in East Africa with just Steven, David’s son. The rest of the team has gone home after wonderfully fruitful ministry here. The lostness here is mind boggling, and therefore the opportunities are endless for the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I personally have seen over 4000 professions of faith so far, and will be in the region until August 23. Jesus is truly proclaiming liberty to the captives.

Please continue to pray that the Gospel will run swiftly here and that people will tremble at the Word. Pray for the financial resources to flow freely for these harvest evangelism trips. I am asking the Lord for an extra $20,000 for travel expenses every year.
