Salvation

The Way of Salvation

The Holiness of God
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” Is. 6:3
“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come.” Rev. 4: 8
“You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness.” Habakkuk 1:13
“Be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1: 15

The Law of God
“You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. You shall not covet.” Exodus 20:1-17

“Whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.”  James 2:10

Our Sin
“There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:10-18, 23
“I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only have I sinned, and done this evil in Your sight-that You may be found just when You speak, and blameless when You judge. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.” Psalm 51: 3-5
“We are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Is. 64: 6

Judgment
“It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27
“We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”  2 Corinthians 5:10
“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged, according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”   Revelation 20:11-15

The Love of God in Christ
“When we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”   Romans 5:6-8
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”   John 3:16
“To this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow in His steps, Who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth.; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”   1 Peter 2: 21-24
“Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.”  1 Peter 3:18
“I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.”  1 Corinthians 15:3-8

Christ the Only Way
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’“ John 14:6
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Salvation a Free Gift
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.’) Galatians 3:13
“The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
“By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”   Ephesians 2:8-9

Our Response
“Unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3
“Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.” Acts 17:30
“Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel.” Mark 1: 15
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your house-hold.”  Acts 16:31
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23
“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:8-10, 13

The Invitation
“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white a snow.” Isaiah 1:18
“Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God, “Therefore turn and live!” Ezekiel 18:30-32
“Come to Me, all you labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest…you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37-38
“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out” John 6:37
“Knowing, therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men…for the love of Christ compels us…we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”  from 2 Corinthians 5:11-21
“And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17
“Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” Hebrews 4:7
